The photographer
Chasing light at the edge of the world.
I'm Rusl — a fine art photographer drawn to the quiet drama of landscapes, the geometry of cities after dark, and the abstract beauty hiding in plain sight.
How it started
Photography found me on a solo trip through Iceland in 2011. I had a borrowed camera, no plan, and three weeks of unbroken light. By the time I came home, I knew I'd never stop.
For years I shot alongside a day job — weekends in the mountains, late nights in empty streets. In 2018 I made it my full-time practice. Since then I've worked across six continents, always returning to the same obsession: the moment when ordinary light turns extraordinary.
Every image in this collection is a single capture. No composites, no artificial skies. What you see is what was there.
The work
I'm interested in stillness. In the pause before a wave breaks, the last minute of golden hour, the empty street that holds the ghost of a crowd. My photographs are invitations to slow down and look again.
